John Cale – ‘All My Friends’ (LCD Soundsystem cover).

Wow, I was not aware that this existed. John Cale(!) covering my (everybody’s) favorite LCD Soundsystem song.

LCD Soundsystem – ‘All I Want’.

Wherein Mr. Murphy’s Eno adoration comes to full flower.

MIA – ‘Born Free’.

From her forthcoming album, out June 29. As much as I liked “Kala” I don’t particularly have high hopes for this record (something about overexposure and my love of the other Diplo projects more), but this track is cool.

LCD Soundsystem – ‘Drunk Girls’ (music video directed by Spike Jonze).

Atoms for Peace – ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’.

Thom Yorke covering Joy Division. Shit yes.

The Apples in Stereo – ‘Dance Floor’ (music video).

Jónsi – ‘Animal Arithmetic’

Trust me, go get former Sigur Rós lead singer Jónsi’s new album ‘Go’. It’s awesome.

They Might Be Giants – ‘Birdhouse in Your Soul’ (music video).

Ever get the feeling that you missed all the great music cause you were 6?

Sebastian Cabot – ‘It Ain’t Me Babe’ (Bob Dylan cover).

In 1967 the actor Sebastian Cabot (best known from the 60s TV series Family Affair) recorded an album of dramatic readings of Bob Dylan lyrics. Pop culture is weird.

The Black Belles – ‘What Can I Do?’ (music video directed by Jack White).

Would someone please get Jack White to direct a feature already? Clearly a film/Orson Welles nerd, this video may run a little much to the “art student’s first short” side of things but it also shows a great deal of promise. I’m thinking he should make an acid western a la Monte Hellman.

Now if only Jack White read my blog…
