Godard’s final film with Karina. Knowing that, the last shot is such a stunner.

In addition to the eight films she made with Godard and her other cinematic performances, Anna Karina has directed two films, starred on the stage (including a production by Bergman), had a long recording career and has written three novels.

Might be writing less than usual while at the Flaherty, so I leave you with this scene from a film called The Go-Getter we played at Austin Film Festival a couple years ago. It’s a good little American indie, with Lou Taylor Pucci and Zooey Deschanel. Here we have Zooey recreating Anna Karina’s part in the Madison scene from Bande à part. So, yeah, I kinda like this.
